"White Birches" large sized professional strength rectangular art glass serving tray
Our "White Birches" kiln formed large sized professional strength rectangular art glass serving tray has been created by glass artist Cynthia Ann Swan, merging her original art with fine crafted function. This tray features an abstracted forest of white birch tree trunks set against a bright blue sky.
The base material of each panel is 1/4" thick recycled glass. The center birch panel was created using ground glass dough rolled flat, hand painted and stenciled in layers using ground glass powders, giving the panels visual depth.The birch panel was then fused flat against the clear glass to adhere all materials, then fired a second time, forming it over heavy stainless steel restaurant trays to give them their server forms. The clear glass borders are lighted textured from contact with the stainless steel mold, suggesting frost crystals on chilled window panes.
