"Deep Woods" Fine Art Glass Panel
"Deep Woods" is a one-of-a-kind, handmade kiln formed glass fine art panel. It is part of the Trees Series in the "V" collection which celebrates the life and art of the French impressionist painter, Vincent Van Gogh. Trees were a favorite subject of Van Gogh, and he painted many of them.
The style of this glasswork is Modern Impressionistic Abstract, and it loosely references Vincent's "Undergrowth Series" of paintings which depict bright shafts of light contrasted against dark stands of trees with thick, knarreled thickets on the forest floor.
This piece echoes the mood of those paintings, creating a deep, mysterious depth accented by glints of golden light.
Deep Woods employs layering of black glass with strips of dichroic glass on beds of powder. The panel is mounted with elevation above its aluminum presentation panel.
