CA Swan Art Studios & Cynthia Ann Swan - Artist
News and Events

GDCA (Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts gallery in Los Angeles, CA), is pleased to announce my October-November 2021 Solo Exhibition:  Cynthia Ann Swan:  "Splash"

"Splash" is a limited retrospective of my work created for my first collection, "Oceanside" (2012)

Water and glass share sister spirits, transparent, liquid, and constantly flowing.  They are beautiful, dangerous, and can never be completely controlled. I am drawn to both by their siren song, and my moods are held captive by their powers.

I am not an earth-tone person, preferring the watery calm of blues and greens. I look for peace near still waters, and joy among the glints and glitters of sparkling streams. Raindrops have been my mantra, and oceans have stirred my fears. I have lived on the banks of an ancient river, loosing myself in it's infinity. Water calls my name.

"Splash" celebrates water's happy side . This bubbly word conveys excitement, energy, and spontaneous fun, and life should be bursting with all of it. From ocean waves to pool parties, this show is all about dancing water, sunny days, and lots of brilliant color.  With abstract images that conjure up portals and whisper the essence of the sea,
and bright, whimsical sea creatures frolicking at an ocean swim party, this show invites you to come out and play.

Prior Solo Exhibitions in 2021

"V"  (February-April 2021) strives to invite the viewer to experience Vincent on a deeper level. It references his letters, his thoughts, and the themes of his work as an impassioned celebration."

"
Déjà vu"  (May - July 2021) The title intends a double meaning, the literal experience of viewing these pieces with the sense of having seen them before, and the figurative reflection of time and memory as emotionally charged moments of repetition.

"Circles of Life"  (August - September 2021)  The rhythm of seasonal change plays softly in the background of my daily life, measuring my days, and choreographing the dances of my creative muse.  These circles of art are snapshots of my moments in the dance.
